Maybe it’s the wandering toddler shepherd who keeps walking off the stage in search of his mother in the pews. I laugh as I watch too, in hopes of dissolving that aggravating lump in my throat that continually threatens to spill out the corners of my eyes. The realization that this tender, bittersweet Story is being re-enacted all over the globe touches me deeply. Familiar and yet so in need of being retold. Reheard. Re-rememered. Re-lived in the hearts and minds of the privileged re-spectators who are then left to re-speculate.
